Spitfire experience at Duxford Imperial War Museum
We recently visited the Duxford Imperial War Museum. Following my Mother’s 60th birthday my Dad decided to treat her to a flight experience to get up close and personal with the iconic Spitfire. Unfortunately the plane itself had a bit of trouble starting early in the morning so there was a long wait whilst it was serviced. After boarding the Dragon Rapide, an impressive craft itself, the group had a shorter wait on the runway before taking off.
Fortunately for us my Mum was recording the whole experience on her camera from take-off to seeing the Spitfire catch up and fly along side them. I have to say I’d loved to have gone up to take photos of it myself, it was certainly a sight to behold!
We also got the chance to see a lot of the other parts of the museum which was all very well maintained and spent some time chatting to the volunteers who were keen to share their knowledge.
I’d highly recommend this place for a day out to all ages. You can find out more on their website.
